Jack Russell Terrier Description:
The Jack Russell Terrier takes its name from the 19th century English clergyman, Reverend John Russell (born in 1795), who developed the breed. The origin is traced to the now extinct English White Terrier. The Fox Terrier and the Jack Russell Terrier share the same origins.

Jack Russell Terrier Appearance:
The Jack Russell Terrier is a small and compact breed. He is has a muscular neck with a narrow chest. The ears are folded forward and triangular. The tail (usually docked) is carried high.

The Jack Russell Terrier's weight:
13–17 lb (5.9–7.7 kg)


Temperament/Personality:
Jack Russell Terriers tend to be extremely intelligent, athletic, fearless, and vocal dogs.

It is not uncommon for these dogs to become moody or destructive if not properly stimulated and exercised, as they have a tendency to bore easily and will often create their own fun when left alone to entertain themselves


Families/Children:
Well socialized Jack Russell Terriers are friendly towards children, but they will not tolerate abuse even if it is unintentional

Jack Russell Terrier Living Environment:
Jack Russell Terriers are a high energy breed which relies on a high level of exercise and stimulation. A small home, apartment or condominium may not be adequate for this breed unless you are physically active and take your dog on good daily walks.

Jack Russell Terrier Health:
Jack Russell Terriers do not have a great deal of serious health complaints. The breed has a reputation for being healthy with a long lifespan.
